My interpretation:

I get the sense that they felt hurt by something that happened within the relationship and so they pulled away and withdrew completely rather than talking things out. They know this is wrong, and with the Knight of Cups, they want to come toward you with this offering, to make a connection again. While they have very strong emotions and they want to come forward to talk to you, This Person is the King of Swords, and s/he is not very good at dealing with their emotions.
