Gold Foil Tarot (Rose) Review

Gold Foil Tarot (Rose)
by: Lyingfish

These large tarot cards have a sleek, glossy finish that makes them visually striking and easy to handle and shuffle. They showcase the classic Rider-Waite imagery but with a fresh take on the traditional coloring.

The deck is packaged in a sturdy box with a foldable magnetic closure, offering excellent protection. It also includes a guidebook for beginners and two introductory cards.

However, if you’re new to tarot, be aware that the cards can be a bit slippery due to their smooth finish. If you’re still mastering the art of shuffling, you might find yourself dropping them more often!

My photos don’t quite capture the beauty of this deck. The cards have a pale rose gold hue that is far more vibrant in person than what my images show. As you can see, the usual bright colors of the Rider-Waite imagery have been replaced with a stunning gradient of light and dark rose gold tones.

Both the front and back of each card are exceptionally glossy and radiant. If you’re reading for a group or client, this deck is sure to make a striking impression.

I also have this deck in yellow gold, which has seen frequent use. However, I’ve noticed that after only a short period, the edges of the cards begin to peel and fray, which can make shuffling more difficult.

The shiny laminate coating is what starts to peel with regular use. While the cards feel sturdy and are quite large, this coating makes them somewhat fragile over time.

A bit of wear and tear on your cards can be seen as a sign of love and frequent use. Even if this deck becomes a bit frayed, it will likely remain a standout piece in your collection. Personally, I appreciate seeing tarot readers with decks that have clearly been well-shuffled and well-loved—it shows the deck’s significance to them.

That said, I truly love this deck and believe it makes a fantastic addition to any collection.
