Mignight Magic Review
Midnight Magic

I recently discovered a tarot deck featuring mushrooms on Amazon and instantly fell in love with it. The artist hails from New Hampshire, which is coincidentally where I’m from as well. I can’t help but wonder which part of this enchanted region, affectionately called “The Shire,” she might reside in. She describes her realm as being in the woods, and I, too, am nestled high up in the forest.
This exquisite deck comes in a sturdy, pull-top box, and the cards are crafted from thick cardstock. It also includes a comprehensive booklet that details the mushrooms depicted on each card, with a unique mushroom featured on every one. The booklet provides interpretations for each card in both the upright and reversed positions.
This deck is best suited for experienced tarot readers, as it lacks the traditional Rider-Waite imagery and does not offer similar visual cues that beginners might rely on.
But how could anyone resist this deck? It’s truly remarkable. Each card showcases a different type of mushroom, complete with both its common and scientific name.
And yes, you’ll notice that “Judgement” is misspelled. This was likely an oversight by an editor who didn’t realize that the Rider-Waite tarot spells it with an “E.”
This deck would be the perfect gift for any tarot enthusiast in your life.
I adore the Queen of Wands in this deck. Just look at the vampiric face hidden within this mushroom! It seems the artist shares my perspective on this queen.
“Oh, my little narcissistic queen, what long fangs you have!“
The deck also features unique external elements, like a dewdrop symbolizing the pentacle in the Page of Pentacles and a rainbow in the Ten of Cups.
You’ll have a wonderful time exploring the intricate details of these beautifully drawn cards.
